Dogecoin Helps Ukraine

00:00:59

While Dogecoin does not appear to be soaring, it is helping the people of Ukraine. Previous reports of a massive crypto Airdrop to the country as it fights a war with Russia did not bolster the token’s value, but it did bring the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine to the light. Interestingly, Billy Markus, the famed Dogecoin co-creator, got into the conversation on Twitter ($TWTR@US), saying, “The Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine tweeting a DOGE address and saying, “We start to accept donations in meme coin. Now even memes can support our army and save lives from Russian invaders” was not on my 2022 bingo card.” The wallet address tweeted by the Ukrainian government had more than 500,000 Dogecoins at press time. The single largest donation was 115,000 Dogecoins. Dogecoin proponents even noted that Dogecoin is the token of the people and that it is held by many “normal” individuals. At press time, Dogecoin was trading at 13.24 cents, down nearly 2% on falling volume and a slight dip in its market cap.
