Komodo National Park and Komodo Dragon, Indonesia

00:03:25

The Komodo National Park has been created to conserve the Komodo dragon and its habitat, and also to protect the area's terrestrial and marine biodiversity. It has been selected as one of the "New 7 Wonders of Nature". The Park is UNESCO World Heritage Site: "These volcanic islands are inhabited by a population of around 5,700 giant lizards, whose appearance and aggressive behaviour have led to them being called 'Komodo dragons'. They exist nowhere else in the world and are of great interest to scientists studying the theory of evolution." (quote from unesco.org).
