A study of over 350,000 US adults found that exercising at the weekend is just as good as spreading exercise out across the week. The type and total amount of exercise is more important than how many sessions of physical activity you do. People who exercise daily or at the weekend had a lower mortality rate than those who don’t get enough exercise. There was very little difference in the mortality rates of people that exercise daily and those who exercise at the weekend. Adults should be doing at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise a week or 75 minutes of vigorous exercise. For people with fewer opportunities for daily or regular physical activity during their work week, these findings are important, Study Authors.
