World number one Jannik Sinner defeated Frances Tiafoe in straight sets in the Cincinnati Open final to capture his fifth title of the year. Sinner, who has been dealing with a hip problem throughout the tournament, beat Tiafoe 7-6, 6-2 to become the youngest winner of the event since Andy Murray in 2008. “It was a very difficult week, tough week. I'm very happy about today's match. It was very tough mentally. Had such an amazing run here, and I tried to do my best today. We both were quite tired from the semi-finals," said Jannik Sinner. Sinner sealed the first set after winning a tie-break 7-4 before romping to a 6-2 win in the second set and completing the triumph in one hour and 37 minutes. The 23-year-old started his season with his maiden Grand Slam victory at the Australian Open, before wins in Rotterdam, Halle and Miami. Sinner will now turn his attention to the US Open, the final Grand Slam of the year, at Flushing Meadows as he looks to secure his second major.
