Rafael Nadal is set to miss Wimbledon as he turns his attention to the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris this summer. Speaking after his opening round straight-set loss to Alexander Zverev at Roland Garros, Nadal noted that it wouldn’t be “smart” to play at Wimbledon. "Looks difficult, honestly. I need to talk with team. But I don’t think it’s going to be smart after all the things that happened to my body (to) now make a big transition to a completely different surface and then come back immediately to clay," said Rafael Nadal. Nadal lost 6-3, 7-6, 6-3 to Zverev, suffering only his fourth defeat in 19 appearances at the event and boasting an overall record of 112-4. The 14-time winner stopped short of saying that this year would be his last appearance at Roland Garros, but added, “I need to check how I feel”. Nadal is aiming to collect his second singles gold medal at the Olympics, which will take place at Roland Garros. The former world number one is also set to partner fellow Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz in the doubles event at the Games.
