Djokovic Suffers Shock Loss After Getting Hit With Bottle

00:01:14

Novak Djokovic has suffered a shock round-of-32 exit at the Italian Open, just two days after he was accidentally hit on the head with a metal bottle. Djokovic, who was beaten 6-2, 6-3 by Alejandro Tabilo, admitted after the match that the hit may have affected him more than he thought. "Today under high stress, it was quite bad. Not in terms of pain, but in terms of this balance. Just no coordination. Completely different player from what it was two nights ago. I don't know. I have to do medical checkups and see what's going on," said Novak Djokovic. Djokovic was signing autographs when a metal bottle was dropped from the stands and onto his head after his win in the previous round. The world number one then fell to the ground and grabbed his head before being helped back to the locker room after receiving treatment. Djokovic would later try to reassure fans that he was okay, with the 36-year-old making light of the incident the following morning on social media. The Serbian also noted that he dealt with some “nausea” and “dizziness” following the incident but managed to sleep “okay” in the days after.
