Murray Yet To Make Wimbledon Decision Following Surgery

00:01:09

Andy Murray is yet to make a decision on whether or not he will compete at Wimbledon amid rumors he was set to miss the tournament. The ATP had posted on X that Murray was set to miss Wimbledon after undergoing back surgery, which requires a six-week recovery period. However, the ATP would later delete the post, with Great Britain Davis Cup captain Leon Smith telling the BBC that a decision has yet to be made. "He obviously went through a procedure yesterday and you have to wait and see now. My understanding is no decision has been made and let's hope for the best for Andy," said Leon Smith. Murray had the surgery following his withdrawal from the second round of the Queen’s Club championships after a back issue flared up. The 37-year-old is set to retire this summer, with Wimbledon, which the Scotsman won in 2013 and 2016, being his last Grand Slam appearance. Murray was also named as a part of Team GB for the upcoming Olympics in Paris, with his participation also under threat due to the surgery.
